Free from the noise of vehicle engines, you leave conventional tracks to tread quietly through towering Sal forests and elephant grasslands. Your guides read fresh pugmarks, scent markings, and canopy alarm calls to position you at strategic riverside watchpoints throughout the day.

The primary quest: Bengal tigers. While sightings can never be 100% guaranteed in true wilderness, foot tracking also brings opportunities to observe greater one-horned Asian rhinos, wild elephant herds, chital and sambar deer, langur monkeys, and hundreds of bird species.

Bush lunch is enjoyed under ancient riverine canopy, maximizing every minute deep inside the national park.

Deep exploration of the towering Sal cathedral forest and riverbanks. Guides inspect fresh mud for tiger pugmarks, rhino paths, and listen attentively to deer alarm calls.

Restful picnic lunch sheltered under a natural canopy or watchtower (machan) facing an active waterhole.

Unlike wildlife parks where animals are radio-collared or located via vehicle convoys, Bardia remains completely wild. Here are the realistic figures documented by our native trackers over the past seasons.

March to May

Pre-monsoon dry heat (35°C–40°C). Grasses are naturally low. Tigers regularly spend hours soaking in the river channels (Karnali, Geruwa, Babai) and waterholes to cool down.

Temperate Climate 50% – 65%

October to February

Pleasant daytime temperatures (20°C–25°C), optimal for walking. Water is abundant throughout the forest, spreading wildlife movements. Excellent for rhinos, wild elephants, and birds.

Monsoon Reduced

June to September

Heavy rainfalls, lush dense undergrowth, and swollen rivers. Tracking on foot is difficult and restricted to select buffer zones. Season not advised for tiger focus.
