Float Down the Karnali River on a Private Rafting Safari in Bardia

Glide quietly down the crystal waters for a full-day river safari along the remote wilderness of Bardia National Park. Carried by the gentle currents of the Karnali River and the Geruwa branch, rafting is arguably the most discreet and stealthy way to observe wildlife in its absolute secrecy.

Aboard a private, fully certified inflatable raft, you are guided by a professional river skipper, a senior naturalist jungle guide, and an elite tracker. Far from crowds, the raft drifts silently along forested river cliffs, secluded gravel bars, and river islands impossible to access on foot or by vehicle.

The prime highlight of this day is the dual land-and-water perspective: this is the unique biotope of the endangered Gangetic river dolphin, spotted surfacing in deep river pools, as well as two prehistoric reptilian species: the slender-snouted Gharial crocodile and the marsh mugger. Along the banks, silent drift allows rare sightings of wild elephants bathing, one-horned rhinos, spotted deer herds, and occasionally the Royal Bengal tiger crossing sandy riverbanks in broad daylight.

The day includes strategic riverside hideouts, short on-foot tracking sorties on isolated gravel beds, and an open-air picnic lunch served on a deserted river beach. All-inclusive: upstream 4x4 transfer, certified safety gear, and official national park permits are fully covered.

⚠️ 100% Wild Nature & Ethical Wildlife Commitment

Wildlife moves freely in a fully preserved river ecosystem. River dolphin sightings and big mammal appearances remain unpredictable. Rafting in Bardia is not an extreme white-water sport, but a scenic, gentle wildlife observation drift (Class I-II calm water). Top priority is always given to quiet approach, respectful wildlife distances, and passenger safety.

Frequently Asked Questions – River Rafting Safari
